Within international scientific collaborations
- 2025– Member, DarkSide experiment International Advisory Board, LNGS — one of six board members advising on policy and strategic matters for the >€100M DarkSide project (70 institutions, 14 countries).
- 2022–24 Coordinator, ATLAS Education & Outreach group, CERN — elected by 181 institutes; reports to the ATLAS spokesperson; managed a core team of ~20.
- 2021–23 Editorial Board member, DarkSide international project, LNGS — executive oversight and planning of the physics programme, strategy and outputs.
- 2020– Member, DarkSide Collaboration Institutional Board, LNGS.
- 2017–20 UK representative, International Particle Physics Outreach Group (IPPOG) Collaboration Board.
- 2017–18 Chair, ATLAS B-Physics trigger data-stream taskforce, CERN.
- 2016–19 LHC liaison, Quarkonium Working Group Collaboration (~250 researchers).
- 2014–16 Leader, ATLAS B-Physics & Light States research group, CERN — one of seven ATLAS physics groups; set research strategy and oversaw operational delivery for the research group and managed eight subgroup leaders.
- 2010– Editorial Board member and chair for ATLAS and DØ physics analyses.
- 2010–14 Leader, Quarkonium & b-Production research subgroup at ATLAS (~30 researchers).
- 2010–14 Leader, Monte Carlo generator algorithms group at DØ, Fermilab (~25 researchers).
- 2010–12 Signature coordinator, B-trigger algorithms group at ATLAS (~20 researchers).

- 2026– DarkSide-UK Physics Coordinator — coordinating UK activities for science exploitation of DarkSide-20k during installation, commissioning and initial data-taking.
- 2021– Work strand lead, signal-processing electronics, DarkSide-UK — one of three top-level work strands, spanning five UK institutes.
- 2020– Chair, Institutional Board, DarkSide-UK — cost/schedule reviews and leadership appointments across 15 institutes.
- 2019–21 Convener, ATLAS-UK B-Physics group (20 institutes).
- 2013–15 Convener, ATLAS-UK Standard Model physics group (20 institutes).

- 2026– Appointed member, UKRI-STFC Projects Peer Review Panel — expert evaluation and strategic advice on major UKRI-STFC project proposals across particle physics, particle astrophysics, nuclear physics and astronomy.
- 2025– Royal Society University Research Fellowships extended research appointment panel (astronomy, cosmology, physics, earth & environmental sciences).
- 2022–24 Chair, UKRI-STFC GridPP7 Peer Review Panel — UK computing for experimental particle physics and the WLCG; refocused R&D toward sustainable computing.
- 2019– Member, UKRI-STFC Particle Physics Grants Panel — assessment of all UK particle-physics grant applications, ~£100M per cycle (reappointed 2022; again 2025–27).

- 2024– Associate Dean for Engagement (public, civic, outreach), Faculty of Science & Engineering — strategic leadership of the FSE Engagement strand; reconfigured the function into an income-generating unit securing >£400k external funding in the first year.
- 2017–25 Director, 4IR STFC Centre for Doctoral Training in Data Intensive Science — consortium across Manchester (lead), Lancaster and Sheffield; 28 PhD students.
- 2017– Leader, Manchester dark matter research group — founded the research area; central role in the successful UK DarkSide funding bid; delivered 25% of the DarkSide-20k silicon photosensor instrumentation.
- 2016–25 Postgraduate Coordinator for Particle Physics — admissions, training, pastoral support and finance for over 120 research students across the role; over 65 at any one time.
