QCD

Strong-interaction physics from vector-boson + heavy-flavour production to double parton scattering and jet physics at hadron colliders.

Quantum chromodynamics governs the strong force. Even when it is not the new physics we are chasing, QCD shapes almost every signature at a hadron collider — so getting it right is essential to everything else.

Key areas

My QCD work spans vector-boson production in association with heavy-flavour jets, double parton scattering — two separate hard interactions within a single collision — and jet physics. A comprehensive Tevatron study of W+jets production introduced novel observables that exposed shortcomings in the best predictions of the day and improved the modelling used across later LHC measurements and searches.

Active now

I contribute to the roadmap for quarkonium physics at the High-Luminosity LHC, where quarkonia serve as precision probes of QCD and of proton structure.
